Our therapists will not coddle you or patronize you.  We will always give it to you straight. We want to empower you with the intelligence and skills to do the work yourself. We will help you find your personal key to freedom and show you how to keep it for a lifetime.

The OCDCentre Therapeutic Approach

Our therapy has been developed as a combination of personal and professional experience, gained from treating hundreds of clients with OCD. Any treatment for OCD shouldn’t be mysterious or complicated, it should be clearly defined and structured. If you were considering other types of healthcare, you would want to know exactly what you are getting.  Our therapy is a multi-disciplinary model with 4 key areas: education, cognitive skills, behavioural skills and anxiety management.  The scientifically-based techniques we use are known as Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. Contrary to the widely held belief that any Cogitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is recommended for OCD, we have found that a specialist area of CBT, called REBT, is more effective.

Each client has an assessment with an OCD Specialist which then allows us to create a treatment programme unique to you and your OCD.

TREATMENT OPTIONS

Telephone Treatment

If you are unable to travel to our Centres, we offer telephone sessions.  This involves you calling a US or UK telephone number and speaking to our therapists by phone for 50 minutes. The treatment will follow the same format as face to face sessions and be supplemented with homework assignments.  If you would like to invite your family, friends or carers to participate in your session we can make this happen by prior arrangement. Regular weekly sessions are ideal but less frequent sessions are also possible.

In-Person Treatment

In-person treatment is offered on a weekly basis at our Centre in Central London. Our treatment can be moulded to fit your lifestyle allowing you to opt for regular weekly or even fortnightly or monthly sessions, depending upon your personal circumstances. In-person treatment can also take place in your home where OCD can be a big problem for you and your family. Home treatment is an ideal option for those of you who are housebound, cannot travel or need to involve family members in your treatment.

Intensive Course

The OCDCentre’s 5-Day Intensive Programme is aimed at those of you who wish to learn how to manage your OCD quickly. You may have a particular deadline, e.g. a new job, wedding, birth of baby, holiday or educational course. For others it may be necessary to make a swift change due to personal relationships or professional difficulties as a direct result of your OCD. It is also for those of you in crisis who have, quite simply, had enough.

Whatever the reason, one factor binds our intensive clients together – the decision to set aside 5 days of your life in return for regaining a happier one in the future. That, and the will and determination to work hard to make a significant change.

Carer’s Course

A course specifically designed for Carers incorporating OCD education, OCD managements skills, therapy techniques and also counselling for the carer themselves.
